Inside the formulation
Every product deserves its own explanation. This listing describes the product you selected; ingredient chemistry and the manufacturing method should not be assumed from another Luma product.
Ingredient rationale
The original label lists six plant-derived starting oils: coconut, palm kernel, olive, castor, hemp seed and jojoba. These oils contribute differing fatty-acid compositions to the final soap. They do not remain unchanged after complete saponification.
How this product is made
The original unscented liquid soap is manufactured using traditional potassium-hydroxide saponification of plant oils. Reaction produces potassium soap and glycerol, followed by dilution and final formulation adjustments as required.
Benefits, use and limitations
This unscented formula avoids added fragrance, which some users prefer. The soap can remove soils through surfactant action; its natural-origin ingredients do not by themselves guarantee compatibility with every skin type. Follow the label for hands, dishes, household cleaning and laundry pretreatment.
Why its soap chemistry matters
Traditional liquid soap is produced when plant oils react with potassium hydroxide to form potassium salts of fatty acids. Different oil profiles shape lather, cleansing and clarity. The original Unscented Castile Soap label lists coconut, palm kernel, olive, castor, hemp seed and jojoba as starting materials; confirm this list against the label for the exact product shown.
